Radio Review: Radio Shack PRO 71 ReviewOne of the radios I use at my station is the Radio Shack Pro 71 handheld scanner. It's a very small and inexpensive ( around $100 ) hand held scanner that covers the aviation ( not Military ) band. It also covers all the other bands such as Police, Fire, Marine, Amateur radio, and public service. It has 100 programmable channels in 10 banks of 10. This little radio works great for what I use it for. I have used this scanner at home, at the office, driving around, and at air shows and it seems to hear just about everything. The pro71 also has a search function which makes it easy to find new frequencies while on the road or at the air show. It takes 4 AA batteries and they seem to last a good long time. I would Highly recommend this little radio to get started in listening to Flight Radio ! Mike Dell, N7LMJ .
