About FlightRadio.com
About FlightRadio.com:
My name is Michael Dell ( no not THAT Michael Dell ). I am the founder of FlightRadio.com and Boonadello.com .
My job is an online technology coach, marketer and designer (see boonadello.com). I have been a licensed Ham Radio operator since 1987 ( N7LMJ) I earned my Extra Class license in 2000. I also host a Folk Music Radio show on WNMC 90.7 FM in Traverse City – www.wnmc.org and a podcast called “Mike Dell’s World” – www.mikedell.com, A podcast called Geek of the North and , of course, Aviation History this week
My interest in aviation is from my service with the U.S. Air Force. I was a Staff Sergeant in the USAF and worked as an aircraft electrician on fighter type aircraft. My specialty was the F-111 Aardvark , EF-111 Raven , and the F-15 Eagle. I have worked on a many types of aircraft such as; F-16 Falcon (now raptor) , A-10 Warthog, F-4 Phantom , T-38 Talon, C-130 Hercules , E-3 AWACS, HH3 Golly Green Giant, KC-135, KC-10, C-141, Learjet 21A, V-22 Osprey, F-117 Night Hawk and a few more. I was stationed in Texas, Illinois, Idaho, Iceland and Florida. I was in the Air Force for 10 years. It was fun but I’m glad I was discharged when I was – right after Gulf War One.
My other interests are Podcasting, Broadcastin and Glock Pistol shooting. I also enjoy Golfing, Poker, Computers, Boats, Old Cars and most other big boy toys.
I decided to start FlightRadio.com in 1998 because, at the time, it was really hard to find aircraft frequencies and information on scanning for aircraft and Air Traffic Control on the web. In 2002 I let someone else take over FlightRadio.com. They did not do much with the site and gave it back to me.
I hope you like what you see at FlightRadio.com and will consider contributing to the content by sending in your frequency lists, news, links and other aircraft information.
Happy scanning!
Michael Dell, N7LMJ
